Lifting Appointed Person

About the role

The Lifting Appointed Person will lead all lifting activities on project sites, ensuring every operation complies with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards. This senior position requires strong technical expertise, risk‑assessment capabilities, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams to execute complex lifts safely.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and approve lifting plans and method statements.
• Conduct risk assessments for routine and critical lifting operations.
• Ensure compliance with lifting regulations, standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate with lifting supervisors, crane operators and rigging teams.
• Verify certification and inspection status of lifting equipment and cranes.
• Oversee execution of complex and heavy lifting activities.
• Conduct toolbox talks and lifting briefings.
• Investigate lifting‑related incidents and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in lifting operations within construction or industrial projects.
• Valid LEEA certification (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred/required per project).
• Strong knowledge of lifting standards and safety regulations.
• Proven experience in heavy lifting and critical lift management.
• Leadership and coordination abilities.
• Experience in tank construction projects, GCC projects or with ADNOC is an advantage.
