Lighting Designer

About the role

Light.Func, an award‑winning lighting design studio in Dubai, is seeking a creative Lighting Designer to join its team. The role involves delivering complete lighting design solutions from concept through to implementation for high‑end projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop lighting concepts, calculations, and fixture selections that meet client briefs, budgets and standards.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and design teams.
• Produce detailed documentation, schedules, and control specifications.
• Create temporary mock‑ups, participate in site supervision and assist with final commissioning.
• Attend client meetings, design reviews and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years post‑graduate experience in a design practice.
• Strong visual and verbal communication skills, self‑motivated and able to lead projects autonomously.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DIALux (or DIALux Evo), SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, BIM tools, 3ds Max, Rhino, Revit, Photoshop.
• Ability to perform lighting calculations and manipulate photometric data.
• Experience with fixture research, mock‑up construction and lighting control specifications.
