M&A Director – Digital Growth

About the role

VEON is seeking a Director of Mergers & Acquisitions to drive its digital growth strategy across multiple frontier markets. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, you will lead end‑to‑end M&A transactions that expand VEON’s presence in fintech, digital banking, entertainment, health tech, ride‑hailing and other digital verticals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and execute complex international acquisitions, divestitures and mergers.
• Conduct strategic and financial analysis to support deal rationale and integration planning.
• Lead transaction teams and coordinate with business and functional leaders throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Represent VEON in negotiations, investor meetings and external stakeholder engagements.
• Develop and implement M&A plans that align with VEON’s DO1440 and AI1440 strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading M&A transactions in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of digital‑focused industries such as fintech, health tech or ride‑hailing.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex deal structures clearly.
• Track record of delivering value‑creating transactions that support strategic growth.
