Manager - Data Governance

About the role

The Data Governance Manager will lead the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of data governance policies, standards and procedures across Dubai Airports. This role ensures data quality, risk management and regulatory compliance while embedding governance controls into business processes and technology projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and update data governance policies, standards and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Design and operate governance forums, decision‑making structures and escalation paths, embedding controls into business processes, systems and project lifecycles.
• Identify and assign data owners and stewards for critical data domains.
• Establish data quality standards, KPIs and monitoring mechanisms; oversee remediation of data quality issues.
• Conduct data risk assessments, maintain risk registers and drive mitigation actions.
• Promote adoption of governance practices, deliver stakeholder training and provide guidance on data governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in data governance or data management.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, data lineage and data risk assessment.
• Proven ability to design and implement end‑to‑end data governance frameworks in complex environments.
• Deep knowledge of data privacy laws and security frameworks.
