Manager - Fixed assets & Inventory Control

About the role

The Manager – Fixed Assets & Inventory Control is responsible for the day‑to‑day execution of closing, consolidation and reporting of the Fixed Assets Register, Capital Work‑in‑Progress and Inventory Register in line with Abu Dhabi Ports policies and IFRS/IAS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and track capital project spending, review purchase orders and vendor invoices, and conduct monthly aging reviews of CWIP projects.
• Lead the settlement and capitalization process, transferring assets from CWIP to PPE or Investment Property upon commissioning.
• Record fixed‑asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers and impairments; maintain an up‑to‑date Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and calculate monthly depreciation/amortisation.
• Consolidate PPE and Investment Property records across subsidiaries and update FCCS records.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between the PPM, Fixed Asset sub‑ledger and the General Ledger, and verify posting batches from all subsystems.
• Prepare regular MIS reports and ensure periodic book closing follows management directions.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IFRS/IAS accounting standards and fixed‑asset accounting principles.
• Experience supervising general‑ledger functionalities and ensuring accurate reporting from ERP modules.
• Ability to collaborate with project managers, subsidiaries and clusters to monitor asset completion and status.
• Proven track record of managing capital work‑in‑progress, PPE and investment‑property accounting.
