Manager Markets – Sub‑Saharan Africa & Indian Ocean

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a Markets Manager for the Sub‑Saharan Africa and Indian Ocean region. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will lead a team of Revenue Management specialists responsible for driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio of markets, including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, DRC, Eritrea, Seychelles, Zanzibar and the Maldives.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue performance for the assigned portfolio, ensuring pricing, demand forecasting, inventory and flight performance meet market objectives.
• Lead and develop managers across Pricing, Demand, Flight Management and Analytics, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Execute market and point‑of‑sale strategies, monitor results and take corrective actions to achieve revenue targets.
• Oversee forecast accuracy, demand plans and pricing performance, supporting decisions with robust analysis and market intelligence.
• Track competitor activity, market trends and customer demand patterns to identify revenue‑enhancing opportunities.
• Collaborate with Network Planning, Sales, Commercial Agreements and Revenue Management stakeholders to resolve market challenges.
• Promote a test‑and‑learn mindset, leveraging insights from past performance, special events and market developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in airline revenue management, pricing, inventory management or a related commercial function.
• Proven experience leading and developing people‑leaders.
• Strong understanding of airline revenue management principles, including pricing, demand forecasting, inventory optimization and commercial performance management.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
