Market Engineer

About the role

The Market Engineer will oversee the maintenance and repair of all front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house and vendor kitchen areas at Time Out Market, Saadiyat Grove. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure the market remains safe, functional and visually appealing for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and other MEP systems.
• Respond promptly to building‑related safety issues, breakdowns and emergency calls, both on‑site and off‑site.
• Manage the Market’s CMMS, completing daily, weekly and monthly checklists and updating work orders.
• Supervise maintenance assistants and coordinate with external contractors on scope, quotations and timelines.
• Collaborate with Market Operations to ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety legislation and to stock necessary supplies and equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in a maintenance or engineering role covering electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry.
• Ability to work standing for up to five hours and to be on call for emergencies outside regular hours.
• Strong English communication skills for interaction with management, co‑workers and vendors.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable attendance and a high level of honesty and integrity.
