Mass Market Business Development Manager - Modern Trade

About the role

We are seeking a Mass Market Business Development Manager – Modern Trade to lead key mass‑market accounts for a leading pharmaceutical company in Dubai. The role combines strategic account management, trade investment planning and execution excellence to drive growth across UAE hyper‑markets and supermarkets.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow mass‑market accounts, translating commercial ambition into in‑store execution and product positioning.
• Lead business planning, trade investment and category leadership, managing account P&L and collaborating with finance, supply, marketing and other functions.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with priority UAE modern‑trade customers, handling listings, launches, pricing, promotions and trade terms.
• Resolve supply and service issues promptly to ensure execution excellence.
• Create promotional plans around key shopper moments and manage retailer investment submissions accurately.
• Drive shelf execution, planogram compliance and secondary placement standards.
• Use field insights and execution data to identify gaps, implement corrective actions and monitor sales, distribution and trade investment performance.
• Maintain scorecards, forecasts and issue‑resolution processes, contributing demand forecasts to the IBP process.
• Support the UAE mass‑market growth agenda and recommend portfolio, pack and pricing strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management or a related field.
• 6–8 years of commercial experience, with strong expertise in UAE modern‑trade account management.
• Proven track record managing leading hyper‑market and supermarket customers in the UAE; FMCG experience required, consumer health/OTC/VMS a plus.
• Strong understanding of joint business planning, trade investment and promotional effectiveness.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Based in the UAE, willing to travel regularly in the field and hold a valid UAE driving licence.
