Mechanical Project Engineer I

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer I to join its Sharjah team. You will be responsible for reviewing contracts, coordinating deliverables, and ensuring smooth project execution for our energy‑industry clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract scope, obligations, schedules and prepare kickoff agendas.
• Finalize and submit deliverable lists for client approval.
• Coordinate with engineering to issue material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and purchase requisitions.
• Monitor weekly progress of drawings, procedures and calculations, taking corrective actions when needed.
• Interface with procurement to track procurement status and resolve issues.
• Organise weekly client review meetings and provide progress forecasts.
• Manage coordination with other companies, transferring engineering documents and handling queries.
• Lead post‑award kickoff meetings with vendors, monitor vendor deliverables, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Identify risks, mitigate delays and cost impacts, and maintain accurate project records.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical project engineering within the oil & gas sector.
• Strong understanding of contract review, project scheduling and stakeholder coordination.
• Proven ability to manage multiple disciplines and drive corrective actions.
