Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Automated Conveytech is looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead a team of conveyor and electromechanical technicians in Dubai. The role involves overseeing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of conveyor systems and material handling equipment at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate daily work to a team of conveyor/electromechanical technicians.
• Provide technical guidance for electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sensors and control panels.
• Inspect, test, align, adjust and commission new conveyor systems and related equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, HSE standards, permits‑to‑work and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports and status updates for management and clients.
• Coordinate spare‑parts requirements and manage tools, consumables and equipment inventory.
• Conduct toolbox talks, train technicians on best practices and support new equipment installations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent supervisory experience).
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Proven experience with conveyor systems, material handling equipment, warehouse automation or airport baggage handling.
• Strong communication, reporting and documentation skills; ability to work under pressure and coordinate with clients.

Required skills

• Conveyor and material handling equipment maintenance.
• Motors, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sensors, control panels, VFDs, motor starters, limit switches, photoelectric sensors and safety devices.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and equipment layouts.
• PLC and automation troubleshooting (preferred).
• Preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
