MEP QA/QC Engineer

About the role

The MEP QA/QC Engineer will ensure the quality, compliance and performance of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations on construction projects, working closely with project teams, consultants and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a QA/QC plan for MEP systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes and international standards.
• Review and approve MEP submittals, shop drawings, method statements and material approvals.
• Conduct regular quality audits and inspections of electrical and mechanical installations.
• Oversee inspection and testing of electrical and mechanical systems and coordinate commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements and international standards.
• Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation and report progress to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of QA/QC experience on large‑scale construction projects, with at least 2 years in a QA/QC engineer or supervisory role.
• In‑depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IEC, NEC, BS, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).

Required skills

• QA/QC processes, inspection procedures and quality standards for MEP systems.
• Inspection and testing of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, earthing, switchgear) and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping).
• Preparation and review of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality reports.
• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience with non‑destructive testing, pressure testing, insulation resistance testing and continuity testing.
• Knowledge of IEC, NEC, BS, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA standards.
