Merchant Settlements Associate

About the role

Finera is seeking a Merchant Settlements Associate to join its Finance team in Dubai. The role ensures accurate execution of merchant settlement processes across multiple payment systems and internal records, supporting day‑to‑day fund flows and resolving discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily merchant settlement processes, ensuring timely and accurate fund transfers.
• Monitor settlement flows across payment processors, banking partners and internal systems, preparing settlement amounts, deductions and net payouts.
• Reconcile settlement data across multiple sources, identify and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist account management teams with merchant queries on statements, FX conversions, fees and payout schedules.
• Maintain records of rolling reserves, perform due‑diligence checks and ensure compliance with internal financial controls.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives and automation projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in merchant settlements, payments operations or financial operations, preferably in a fintech environment.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and good communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively across Finance, Operations and Account Management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems such as Xero or NetSuite.
• Understanding of payment processing, settlement flows and reconciliation.
• Exposure to digital asset platforms or cryptocurrency environments is a plus.
