Mobile Design Engineer

About the role

Join the Consumer Mobile team building the Kraken app, a high‑trust crypto platform used by millions. As a Mobile Design Engineer you will blend design intuition with deep engineering expertise to craft the look, feel and performance of every interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Own the motion and interaction layer of the Kraken app, including easing, springs, gestures, transitions, haptics and sound.
• Develop and maintain the mobile design system, creating reusable components and motion tokens.
• Work on a React Native codebase using Reanimated, Skia and native bridges to deliver fluid experiences.
• Profile and optimise rendering performance, especially on lower‑end Android devices.
• Influence architectural decisions around state management, render cycles and data flow to ensure UI responsiveness.
• Collaborate closely with product designers to elevate motion concepts from sketch to production.
• Raise quality standards across the mobile org through code reviews, pattern libraries and mentorship.

Required profile

• A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing shipped mobile interactions and motion design.
• Deep fluency with React Native and a passion for creating delightful, trustworthy experiences.
