Network Security Engineer – Expert Level

About the role

The Expert Engineer will review and implement security controls to protect Etisalat’s infrastructure services, covering 4G, 3G, MPLS, Internet, Cloud, Data Centers and IPTV. The role includes on‑call escalation support and participation in change‑management activities while collaborating with multiple stakeholders and service owners.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network security issues and devices such as Arbor DDoS, Peakflow, TMS and AED.
• Analyze packet captures to identify attack behavior and apply appropriate counter‑measures.
• Design and enforce security policies on high‑end Cisco routers, switches, ACLs and policy filters.
• Coordinate with security planning for new projects, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Provide Level 2/3 support, diagnose service degradation, and manage hardware/software escalations with TAC.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and 24/7 escalation handling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in network security, preferably within a telecom environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of security devices, MPLS, 3G/4G/5G, Cloud, Data Center and IPTV networks.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security and CEH.
