Nursery Manager

About the role

Riverwood Nursery is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead its early years setting in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring high‑quality care and education for children aged 0‑5.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support staff to implement best practices in early years education.
• Monitor and evaluate practice within playrooms to drive continuous improvement.
• Work closely with parents and carers to achieve full integration of each child.
• Provide physical, emotional and intellectual guidance tailored to each child's needs.
• Maintain high staff morale and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Liaise with the Local Authority and external professionals for optimal child outcomes.
• Organise and evaluate monthly staff meetings outside regular hours.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed and provide relevant training.
• Participate in training programmes for qualified staff.
• Uphold hygiene, cleanliness and health‑and‑safety standards appropriate for young children.
• Log and analyse accidents/incidents, developing mitigation plans as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Promote and support child and staff protection within the workplace.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing a childcare setting.
• Experience working with children aged 0‑5.
• Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Knowledge of National Care Standards and relevant regulations.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality childcare.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reporting and record‑keeping.
• Experience in line managing staff, including induction, supervision and appraisals.
• BSc in Early Years Education, Education Management or equivalent.
• Desirable: Level 3 Childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3) or working towards it.
