Officer Baggage Handling Systems

About the role

The Officer Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) oversees daily baggage handling operations across all terminals at Abu Dhabi International Airport, ensuring efficient resource allocation, maintenance coordination and uninterrupted service for arrivals and departures.

Key responsibilities

• Support BHS Operations & Maintenance Supervisors and Control Room Operators to meet departmental goals.
• Monitor day‑to‑day BHS performance, report and escalate non‑conformities, and conduct routine inspections.
• Plan shift allocations, manage resource scheduling and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance approvals.
• Implement contingency procedures during major system stoppages in line with Business Continuity Plans.
• Prepare daily, weekly and breakdown reports, and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve operational issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in baggage system and ramp operations.
• Strong knowledge of airport operations, safety, security and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GCAA regulations.
• Familiarity with IATA procedures related to baggage operations.
• Understanding of baggage handling systems.
• Reporting and data analysis capabilities.
