OT Cybersecurity Engineer (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

Stantec is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Engineer for a six‑month fixed‑term assignment in Abu Dhabi. The role will lead the overall OT/IT security effort for major Master Control Centre and water network projects, ensuring compliance with industry‑accepted cybersecurity frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead OT/IT cybersecurity for Master Control Centre and water network projects.
• Review and obtain client approval for project Cyber Security Plans.
• Assess network architectures (zones & conduits, segmentation, industrial DMZ) and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate configuration of security products such as firewalls, IDS, and IPS.
• Monitor deployment of network devices (switches, routers) and security appliances.
• Review security policies, plans, and procedures; assess monitoring capabilities.
• Analyze system logs, security events, and packet captures to identify threats.
• Lead design reviews, workshops, and gap analyses with EPC contractors and package vendors.
• Participate in vulnerability and risk assessments for SCADA/control system environments.
• Prepare and coordinate reports, action items, and remediation recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading OT/IT cybersecurity initiatives for industrial control systems.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks applicable to OT environments.
• Ability to evaluate network designs and security product configurations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, gap analyses, and security workshops.
• Excellent analytical skills for log and packet‑capture analysis.
