PD Lead Technologist

About the role

Ford Motor Company is seeking a PD Lead Technologist to lead vehicle preparation, testing, and evaluation for the Middle East market. You will ensure vehicles meet safety and technical standards, capture customer‑focused data, and provide actionable insights to engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and ready vehicles for in‑market testing, including safety and technical compliance.
• Conduct real‑world evaluations, capture data, and benchmark competitor vehicles.
• Investigate test results, identify root causes, and share findings with engineering.
• Manage the Middle East test‑vehicle fleet, including import support, maintenance, modifications, licensing, renewals, and inspections.
• Oversee workshop equipment and supplies to ensure functionality.
• Support technical teams with expert guidance for issue diagnosis and resolution.
• Develop and document ME‑specific driving routes, including off‑road tracks.
• Assist with media events, dealer meetings, and continuous professional development.
• Coordinate contracted technical staff and support purchasing and financial tracking for the PD team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automotive vehicle evaluation, test data collection, and diagnostic methods.
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems and performance characteristics.
• Ability to acquire, analyse, and clearly report data.
• Excellent problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
