Platform Reliability Engineer

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking a Platform Reliability Engineer to design, automate, and maintain a highly resilient hybrid multicloud environment. The role focuses on improving platform reliability, recoverability, and operational efficiency through engineering and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, performance, and recoverability of critical platform services.
• Manage and validate backup and recovery using enterprise tools such as Rubrik.
• Plan and execute disaster‑recovery testing and recovery assurance activities.
• Support migration of workloads from VMware to modern cloud platforms.
• Develop automation to reduce operational toil and enhance service reliability.
• Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness across the platform.

Required profile

• 8‑10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering reliability improvements and measuring success.
• Experience leading disaster‑recovery programmes and major migration initiatives.
• Ability to validate recoverability beyond successful backups.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Nutanix, VMware, and public cloud platforms.
• Backup and recovery technologies, specifically Rubrik.
• Automation scripting using PowerShell and Python.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
