PLC Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Join Vanderlande's Engineering Team in Dubai to lead the development and commissioning of PLC software for high‑performance baggage and cargo handling systems. You will ensure functional performance, eliminate redundancies, and deliver projects on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and commission PLC software in line with BHS/CHS specifications.
• Analyse mechanical, electrical and control drawings to verify feasibility and compliance.
• Prepare functional design specifications, operator manuals, training manuals and other design documentation.
• Create commissioning documents such as method statements, checklists, test protocols and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with design, IT and simulation teams on drive selection, fieldbus topology and safety considerations.
• Conduct system testing, provide training to stakeholders and resolve snags.
• Provide onsite support to optimise existing BHS/CHS installations.
• Participate in product training, review low‑level control estimates and ensure customer specifications are met.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of baggage and cargo handling system processes and safety systems.
• Experience with third‑party interfaces such as ATR, X‑ray, sorters and lifts.
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical and control drawings.
• Proven capability to produce detailed technical documentation.
• Hands‑on experience in testing, commissioning and on‑site support.
