About the role
We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and highly motivated Primary Homeroom Teacher to join our Primary School. The role involves delivering a high-quality, engaging and inclusive learning experience that sparks curiosity, builds confidence and helps every child reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver well‑sequenced lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England, adapting instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Employ a range of effective teaching strategies such as “Do Now”, modelling, questioning, scaffolding and formative assessment to drive progress and attainment.
- Develop strong foundational literacy, numeracy and oracy skills, fostering a love of learning and independent study.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration and positive attitudes toward learning.
- Use ongoing formative and summative assessment to identify strengths, target support and ensure strong pupil progress.
- Provide appropriate challenge and support for all learners, including students of determination and those with English as an Additional Language, while promoting wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Build professional relationships with parents through regular communication, progress updates and participation in school events.
- Participate in phase and team meetings, coaching, CPD and other professional development activities.
- Contribute to wider school life through enrichment activities, trips, assemblies and whole‑school initiatives.
- Support school improvement priorities and help maintain a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed.) or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of successful primary teaching experience, preferably within a British curriculum or international school.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and effective approaches to teaching English and mathematics.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including students of determination and EAL pupils.
Required skills
- Curriculum planning and delivery aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
- Use of varied teaching strategies (Do Now, modelling, questioning, scaffolding, formative assessment).
- Assessment for learning – both formative and summative.
- Classroom management that promotes inclusion, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Effective communication with parents and staff.
