Principal Architect - Platforms

About the role

Core42 is seeking a Principal Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of its Kubernetes and OpenShift based cloud platforms. This senior technical leader will define long‑term architecture, standards, and governance for private, hybrid, and public cloud environments supporting AI/ML workloads and enterprise services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture vision, roadmap and standards for Kubernetes, OpenShift and cloud‑native services.
• Design multi‑cluster, multi‑tenant platforms that are scalable, secure, resilient and highly available.
• Lead decisions on hosted control planes, automation, observability, GitOps and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices.
• Architect fleet‑management solutions using Gardener, Kamaji and related technologies.
• Integrate platform services with OpenStack, networking, storage, IAM, PKI, DNS, load balancing, security and monitoring.
• Establish operating models for lifecycle management, upgrades, backup, disaster recovery and scaling.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift at enterprise scale.
• Proven ability to lead architecture strategy across private, hybrid and public clouds.
• Strong background in cloud‑native operational models, automation and governance.
• Excellent communication skills to influence engineering, security, operations and product teams.
