Principal Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

EDGE Group PJSC is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of mission‑critical avionics and flight‑control software. The role combines deep technical expertise with ownership of the full software lifecycle in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for aerospace systems, including avionics and flight control.
• Implement real‑time software with minimal latency, high reliability, and deterministic performance.
• Translate control algorithms and system requirements into efficient embedded code.
• Integrate software with hardware, conduct rigorous testing, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Follow industry standards such as DO‑178C and DO‑254 throughout development.
• Optimize code for memory usage, power efficiency, and execution speed while adhering to coding standards.
• Produce detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and results.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with hardware, systems, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Debug and resolve defects, performance issues, and anomalies using structured analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in aerospace or safety‑critical domains.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures such as ARM and STM32, and low‑level hardware interfacing.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in mission‑critical environments and drive solutions from concept to deployment.
