Principal – Procurement Excellence and Sourcing Governance

About the role

The Principal – Procurement Excellence and Sourcing Governance will lead the development and monitoring of governance frameworks for sourcing activities across MTN. This senior position ensures compliance with procurement policies, drives predictive risk alerts, and leverages data analytics to optimize sourcing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an end‑to‑end supply‑chain governance and risk framework that is auditable and transparent.
• Oversee compliance of all sourcing events against defined guardrails, standards, and procurement policies.
• Collaborate with domain PODs and Procurement Excellence CoE members to run sprints, share best practices, and up‑skill teams.
• Develop predictive and proactive mechanisms using advanced data analytics to generate risk alerts and automated controls.
• Review RFx templates, supplier evaluation methods, and awarding procedures to ensure alignment with policies and legal requirements.
• Consolidate performance metrics (cost savings, ESG targets, contract compliance) and report to senior leadership.
• Monitor supplier base for risk or fraud, conduct post‑facto checks, and support global risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing governance, or supply‑chain risk management.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive compliance initiatives.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in building data‑driven control mechanisms.
• Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders and present insights.
