Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Alpheya, a wealth‑management technology provider, is looking for a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to own the end‑to‑end SaaS operations for its banking customers. Reporting to the CTO, you will be accountable for service reliability, incident management, and the onboarding of new banks onto the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and report SLAs, manage incident communications and lead post‑incident reviews with bank executives.
• Oversee release and deployment operations across all tenant environments, including change management and coordination with bank freeze windows.
• Build and maintain the reliability program: disaster‑recovery testing, backup verification, patching, vulnerability management, capacity planning and cost‑per‑tenant modeling.
• Create and maintain a repeatable tenant onboarding runbook to streamline new bank go‑lives.
• Lead European launch activities, ensuring data residency, DR, and support coverage in new Azure regions.
• Manage compliance operations for outsourcing arrangements under ISO 27001, SOC 2 and regional banking regulations.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in production operations, with a focus on multi‑tenant SaaS environments.
• Proven track record of leading customer‑facing service management, including severity‑one incident bridges and executive post‑incident presentations.
• Experience building or scaling SRE/platform‑operations teams and designing on‑call rotations across regions.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud platforms, able to challenge engineers on failure modes, DR design and capacity claims.
