Procurement Engineer - MEP

About the role

The Procurement Engineer – MEP will support the procurement function for construction and MEP projects, ensuring the right materials, equipment and services are sourced, priced and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Study material requisitions from various contracts and identify suitable suppliers.
• Negotiate optimal prices and manage logistics for delivery.
• Assist senior purchasing officers in procuring materials, equipment, equipment hire, labour hire, sub‑contracts and services.
• Obtain, review and compare supplier quotes and make recommendations.
• Place purchase orders and monitor timely delivery to job sites.
• Maintain accurate purchase and inventory records in line with company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance for quality and delivery compliance.
• Collaborate with divisional, project and site managers to align procurement with project schedules.

Required profile

• Minimum 60 months (5 years) of procurement experience in construction or MEP environments.
• Strong understanding of purchasing policies and inventory management.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage logistics.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems, particularly SAP MM.
