Production Planning Engineer

About the role

The Production Planning Engineer supports Etihad Airways’ safety, airworthiness and economic goals by managing capacity planning for line and light maintenance. Reporting to the Lead Production Planning Engineer, the role ensures efficient use of resources and facilities to maintain aircraft serviceability and technical dispatch reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor project plans to meet business requirements and maintain seamless workflow within Technical Operations.
• Manage capacity planning tools, review monthly capacity trends, and draft budget plans for additional resources.
• Coordinate infrastructure such as hangars, cranes, dockings, special tools and parking bays to satisfy maintenance demands.
• Monitor the 14‑day work load control (WLC) and participate in production meetings to address AOG or planned casualty inputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related field) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma/Aircraft License with 3‑5 years experience.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and maintenance planning processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication and collaboration abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AMOS maintenance software.
• Experience using capacity planning and maintenance forecasting tools.
