Project Engineer - Fire Alarm System

About the role

The Project Engineer – Fire Alarm System will oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of fire alarm, voice evacuation and emergency lighting systems on construction sites in Dubai. The role ensures compliance with NFPA standards, UAE Civil Defence regulations and project specifications while supporting timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect installation of fire alarm and voice evacuation equipment, including detectors, MCPs, panels, sounders, speakers and fire telephone systems.
• Inspect and verify emergency lighting installations such as exit lights and central battery systems.
• Witness testing and commissioning, coordinate with consultants and authorities, and confirm system functionality before hand‑over.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and technical documents to ensure compliance with NFPA 72, UAE Civil Defence and local regulations.
• Prepare inspection reports, snag lists and progress updates; track and close defects.
• Coordinate with MEP contractors, consultants and internal teams, attending site meetings and safety briefings.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience with fire alarm, voice evacuation and emergency lighting systems, preferably on UAE/GCC projects.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and communication skills.
