Project Engineer – Projects Department

About the role

The Project Engineer will support and execute engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept and FEED through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and hand‑over. The role ensures delivery aligns with ADNOC safety, quality, schedule, cost and Value Assurance Process requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support all phases of project delivery, from concept to commissioning and hand‑over.
• Develop Statements of Requirements (SOR) and project execution strategies.
• Assist in preparing tender documents and evaluating engineering consultants, PMC and EPC contractors.
• Review contractor engineering deliverables, construction strategies and methodologies for compliance.
• Monitor engineering, procurement and construction progress, identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
• Facilitate value engineering, constructability reviews and project workshops.
• Coordinate with licensors, contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders; participate in project meetings and technical reviews.
• Monitor contractor performance, invoices and project costs; evaluate claims and support contract close‑out.
• Track project variations, risks and trends impacting cost and schedule.
• Conduct risk analysis, PHSER and ATR reviews in line with ADNOC procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and engineering standards; support HSE implementation.
• Maintain project documentation, records and close‑out files; prepare progress reports for management.
• Coordinate pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities with contractors and operations teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 72 months (6 years) of experience in project engineering, construction or commissioning within the oil and gas sector.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors and vendors.
• Experience in monitoring project progress, managing variations and supporting contract administration.
