Project Information Manager

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Project Information Manager to lead the information environment for a multi‑billion‑dollar EPC/EPCM programme in Abu Dhabi. The role is based in the Abu Dhabi office and will involve regular interaction with project sites and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and improve the current information management environment, addressing risks and gaps.
• Maintain and evolve the Project Information Management Plan, procedures, and system strategy.
• Lead Document Control, Data Management and Engineering Systems across home office, work‑share locations, sites, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Govern engineering documents, structured data, tag registers, drawings, models and databases.
• Oversee SmartPlant Foundation publishing, validation, exception management and reporting.
• Coordinate engineering database consolidation, conflict resolution and as‑built transfer.
• Manage material information controls, aligning MTOs, purchase orders, inspection records and construction work packages.
• Support Advanced Work Packaging and ensure seamless handover to commissioning and close‑out phases.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, information management, computer science or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive Project Information Management experience on major oil‑and‑gas EPC/EPCM projects.
• Proven ability to stabilise and improve information delivery on large, complex, in‑flight projects.
• Experience across engineering, procurement, materials, construction, commissioning, handover and close‑out.

Required skills

• SmartPlant Foundation publishing and engineering database consolidation.
• Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and structured engineering data.
• Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) concepts.
• Geospatial surveys, laser scanning, LiDAR, drone surveys and point‑cloud processing.
• Data mining of legacy documents and models.
• Cybersecurity compliance for project systems and data transfers.
