Project Manager – Ubuntu Embedded Systems

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of Ubuntu images for a wide range of embedded devices, including robots, edge gateways, IoT modules, PCs and automotive systems. The role is fully remote and serves as the primary liaison between Canonical’s engineering teams and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete large, complex customer‑facing projects from inception to delivery.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client goals and Canonical objectives.
• Develop and maintain project statements of work, schedules, and plans.
• Obtain client agreement on timelines and deliverables.
• Deliver engineering professional services, including custom board enablement and Ubuntu image deployment.
• Mitigate project risks and drive technical issues to successful outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing technical projects, preferably in embedded or IoT environments.
• Strong ability to work with distributed, remote teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
