Purchase Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Officer to manage end‑to‑end procurement for a manufacturing environment serving the automotive, steel and HVAC sectors. The successful candidate will source materials, negotiate with suppliers and ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle procurement of raw materials, spare parts, equipment and consumables.
• Identify and qualify suppliers for steel, automotive components, HVAC and mechanical items.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance and project teams to understand material requirements.
• Maintain and update the supplier database, developing new vendor relationships.
• Monitor stock levels in collaboration with the warehouse team.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and approval procedures.
• Manage import purchases and liaise with logistics when required.
• Prepare procurement reports and cost comparison statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in procurement within manufacturing, automotive, steel or HVAC industries.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Knowledge of technical materials such as steel, mechanical components and HVAC parts.
• Ability to join immediately or with short notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally or similar).
