About the role
The Purchasing Officer will support business units by ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services. This role is central to maintaining accurate procurement records and facilitating smooth operations within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist business units in assessing budgets before procurement.
- Obtain quotations and prepare purchase requisitions.
- Prepare and accurately process purchase orders.
- Investigate discrepancies between ordered and received goods.
- Process goods receipts accurately.
- Forward purchase enquiries to suppliers promptly.
- Provide monthly feedback to finance on capital project status.
- Generate monthly procurement reports, identify unusual items, and report findings.
- Respond to queries from business units and vendors regarding purchase orders and receipts.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing role within an industrial manufacturing or related industry.
- Certificates in supply chain or procurement training.
