Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist supports the Unit Purchasing Manager in executing sourcing plans for a specific unit. Working closely with business functions, the role identifies local sourcing opportunities, manages supplier tenders, acts as contract owner for selected suppliers, and supports customer‑specific projects and installation services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop local sourcing opportunities for direct materials, spare parts and installation services.
• Negotiate frame contracts, price lists and supplier agreements, acting as the contract owner for each supplier category.
• Support the implementation of global and area category plans within the unit.
• Define source plans for customer projects, run RFQs, and select preferred suppliers.
• Collect business requirements for indirect spend and assist with local contract negotiations.
• Provide guidance on preferred suppliers, ensure compliance with local policies, and update instructions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management or Procurement are advantageous.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Strong supply‑market knowledge in the relevant area of spend.
• Proficiency in supplier tendering, negotiation and contract management.
• Ability to develop frame contracts and price lists.
• Experience supporting global/area category plans.
