Quality Control Engineer

About the role

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory is seeking an experienced Quality Control Engineer to oversee material inspection, fabrication, testing and final product realization for marine and oil‑&‑gas projects. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, applicable codes and client requirements while working closely with production, engineering and QA/QC teams.

Key responsibilities

• Verify incoming materials against Material Requisitions, purchase orders and project specifications.
• Review and validate material test certificates and supporting documentation.
• Maintain material traceability by recording unique identification numbers.
• Raise and follow up on Non‑Conformance Reports for non‑compliant materials or fabrication deviations.
• Ensure Welding Procedure Specifications are available and adhered to on the shop floor.
• Coordinate stage‑wise inspections in line with approved ITPs and QCPs.
• Support and witness Destructive Testing, Non‑Destructive Testing and pressure testing activities.
• Inspect blasting, painting and coating operations according to project requirements.
• Maintain, calibrate and manage inspection and testing instruments.
• Prepare and compile inspection, testing and qualification records and final quality documentation.
• Liaise with customer representatives, third‑party inspectors and class surveyors on quality matters.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a QC Engineer in marine, oil‑&‑gas or fabrication environments.
• Familiarity with ITPs, QCPs, welding procedures and relevant international codes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering and QA/QC teams.
