Quality Officer

About the role

The Quality Officer will implement and monitor the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Plan at American Hospital Dubai. The role involves developing programs to evaluate patient care, collaborating with clinical and administrative leaders, and presenting improvement results to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing and monitoring the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Program.
• Develop data collection tools for key performance measures and trends.
• Review IT infrastructure to support hospital‑wide performance and quality reporting.
• Coordinate with department leaders to ensure compliance with data collection, analysis and reporting requirements.
• Design data display techniques and reporting formats for use across the hospital.
• Collect timely data, produce regular progress reports and recommend infrastructure improvements.
• Monitor core measures, including Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements.
• Develop and monitor hospital policies, plans and programs related to quality.
• Guide the creation of clinical practice guidelines, protocols, pathways and order sets.
• Implement education programs on data analysis and performance improvement.
• Analyze areas for improvement and propose process, system and operational changes.
• Document project results and coordinate data validation with Quality staff.
• Represent the Quality Department on committees in the absence of the Quality Manager.
• Act as an internal consultant on regulatory, process improvement and statistical analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or equivalent professional qualification (current license preferred).
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred – certification to be obtained within 6‑12 months of joining.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
