Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will oversee all post‑contract surveying and commercial activities for construction projects, ensuring accurate cost control and contractual compliance. Working closely with consultants, contractors and clients, you will provide expert advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage post‑contract quantity surveying and commercial tasks across the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, review and assess interim valuations, payment applications and payment certificates in line with contract requirements.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, variations and overall financial performance.
• Evaluate variations, including quantities, rates and associated costs.
• Assess and manage contractual claims, ensuring proper substantiation.
• Review and verify Bills of Quantities, specifications, drawings and contract documents.
• Assist in negotiating and agreeing variations and claims.
• Prepare and close out final accounts, reconciling all financial matters.
• Maintain accurate commercial and contractual correspondence records.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, clients and project teams on commercial matters.
• Provide cost‑control advice and identify commercial risks and opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum five years (60 months) of experience in quantity surveying or related commercial roles.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
