Radio Room Operator

About the role

GAC is seeking a Radio Room Operator to join its Fujairah team. You will support vessel operations, coordinate crew and supply movements, and act as a communication hub for port and ship activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate crew and supply boat movements based on check‑lists from persons in charge.
• Update and distribute daily boat log sheets to relevant coordinators.
• Provide cargo operation updates, especially during out‑of‑office hours or holidays.
• Arrange personnel transportation, prioritising use of own transport when requested.
• Communicate vessel requirements and movements to boarding representatives for timely boarding.
• Monitor communications and cover operations after office hours and during holidays.
• Respond promptly to queries, escalating issues to the appropriate manager or boarding officer.
• Update the list of tanker vessel calls twice daily using AIS live and other sources.
• Process Fujairah port entry passes for clients, visitors and personnel.

Required profile

• Higher secondary education (preferred).
• Good English communication skills; additional South Asian languages are a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Experience in the shipping industry or previous sailing experience is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems.
