Registered Nurse – Labor Room

About the role

The Labor Room Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, evidence‑based nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Working within Aster Hospitals in Dubai, the nurse ensures patient safety, comfort, and high‑quality clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Monitor patients, report changes promptly to the medical team, and manage emergencies such as code blue.
• Administer medications safely following the seven rights and perform blood product transfusions.
• Provide personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination assistance, and end‑of‑life care as required.
• Educate patients and families on care procedures, rights, and responsibilities.
• Maintain infection‑control practices, clean equipment, and ensure a safe, quiet environment.
• Document nursing interventions, evaluate effectiveness, and communicate reports during shift changes.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and escort patients to various departments.
• Mentor new staff and delegate tasks to healthcare assistants when appropriate.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification.
