Reliability Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Khazna Data Centers is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join its reliability engineering program across multiple data centre sites in the United Arab Emirates. Reporting to the Reliability Manager, you will monitor system performance, drive preventative and predictive maintenance, and lead root‑cause investigations to improve infrastructure resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time and historical performance metrics for critical power, cooling and IT systems.
• Analyze system data to identify trends, failure modes and reliability risks.
• Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and Failure Mode & Effects Analyses (FMEA) and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain condition‑based and predictive maintenance routines using IoT sensors, data analytics and machine‑learning tools.
• Support preventive maintenance programmes: schedule, document and validate activities.
• Assist in asset lifecycle planning, including upgrades, decommissioning and end‑of‑life strategies.
• Prepare reliability reports and dashboards, presenting findings to site leadership.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO, ASHRAE and Uptime Institute.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in reliability or maintenance engineering within a data‑center environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with RCA, FMEA and predictive‑maintenance methodologies.
• Proficiency with monitoring platforms, data‑analytics tools and scripting languages (Python, R).
• Familiarity with IoT sensors, machine‑learning frameworks and condition‑based monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of industry reliability standards and regulations (ISO, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute).
