Renovation Field Support Engineer

About the role

The Renovation Field Support Engineer will lead the technical modernization of elevator systems for Otis in Dubai, ensuring solutions meet safety standards, customer requirements and local regulations. The role combines site surveying, engineering design, and on‑site support to deliver successful renovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop modernization configurations and technical proposals in line with company standards and safety codes.
• Evaluate feasibility of solutions considering equipment condition, shaft constraints and site‑specific challenges.
• Review technical specifications, tender documents and consultant drawings for compliance.
• Conduct comprehensive site surveys and produce detailed reports with findings, risks and recommendations.
• Provide technical handover of awarded projects to Project Management and Operations teams.
• Support field teams during installation by resolving technical issues and clarifying engineering requirements.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks that could affect cost, schedule or installation.
• Coordinate with factories, engineering centres, procurement and logistics to ensure accurate material ordering.
• Ensure modernization solutions comply with local authority requirements, EN81, company standards and elevator safety regulations.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
• Comfortable working in a technical environment using Microsoft‑based software.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
