Research Assistant – Language, Mind & Brain Lab

About the role

The Language, Mind and Brain Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a motivated recent graduate to join as a Research Assistant. This three‑year fellowship provides hands‑on experience in psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic research, close mentorship from faculty, and guidance for future graduate‑school applications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in experimental design, data collection, and analysis for language‑processing studies using M/EEG, fMRI, and behavioral paradigms.
• Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the preparation of academic manuscripts.
• Participate in regular lab meetings, research discussions, and training sessions.
• Support administrative tasks related to ongoing research projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Coursework in linguistic theory (syntax, semantics, phonology) preferred.
• Prior research experience (e.g., undergraduate thesis, RA work) in psycholinguistics or neurolinguistics is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and interest in pursuing MA/PhD studies.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic.
