Researcher/Associate Analyst – Geopolitical & Country Risk (MENA)

About the role

Control Risks is seeking a Researcher/Associate Analyst to join its diverse, multi‑lingual team in Dubai. The role focuses on the intersection of politics, security and business across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), delivering timely insights to an international client base.

Key responsibilities

• Write and update content for the political risk subscription services (e.g., Seerist).
• Produce bespoke consulting reports, briefings and workshops for clients on market entry, risk assessment and stakeholder engagement.
• Participate in conferences, seminars and other events to represent the firm.
• Collaborate closely with other service lines and global offices.
• Research and analyse open‑source information, social media, and attend industry events to build regional expertise.
• Develop and maintain a source network through research trips and direct engagement.
• Suggest new research sources and methodological approaches.

Required profile

• Strong background and enthusiasm for politics, security and business issues in the MENA region.
• Ability to distil complex developments into practical, business‑focused insights.
• Comfortable handling a varied workload and maintaining composure under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic research capability is a plus.
