Resident Engineer - Civil - Sewerage Rehabilitation Projects

About the role

The Resident Engineer will oversee the construction of sewerage rehabilitation projects in Abu Dhabi, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards. The role requires a strong on‑site presence and daily coordination with contractors, designers, clients and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on‑site construction activities, including material delivery, contractor schedules, labour and equipment.
• Review design proposals, work programmes, material submittals, method statements, shop drawings and variation orders.
• Manage site supervision staff and ensure works comply with contract specifications, quality and safety requirements.
• Provide regular progress, cost and status updates to the client and project team, and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Collaborate with designers, architects and contractors to resolve issues, recommend innovative solutions and control project costs.
• Maintain daily diaries, monitor quality of materials and workmanship, and liaise with governmental authorities and consultants.

Required profile

• Extensive on‑site presence throughout the construction phase.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work closely with clients, project management and contractors to resolve issues.
