Resident Engineer - Mechanical Substation - 132 KV

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resident Engineer to lead and supervise all mechanical engineering activities for high‑voltage substations (132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and above) in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure construction work follows approved drawings, project specifications, contract documents and local authority requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance, productivity and adherence to project schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress, workmanship and compliance.
• Review and recommend approval of contractor submissions, including method statements, material submittals, shop drawings and work procedures.
• Participate in progress review meetings and coordinate with all project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 12 + years of experience in MEP engineering with a focus on erection, testing and commissioning.
• Strong coordination and communication abilities to work with subcontractors, clients and civil teams.
• Proven capability to prepare and review technical drawings and calculations.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
