Resort Assistant Manager / Duty Manager (Russian Speaker)

About the role

The Resort Assistant Manager / Duty Manager will support the Front Desk Manager in overseeing daily front‑desk operations at Fairmont The Palm, a luxury resort on Palm Jumeirah. The role requires strong leadership, guest‑service focus and the ability to manage financial controls while ensuring a seamless experience for guests, especially Russian‑speaking visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach a team of Reception Agents, ensuring high service standards.
• Assist the Front Desk Manager with operational duties, including cash handling, deposit verification and credit‑card authorisations.
• Monitor and control financial transactions, review open‑balance reports and ensure guest deposits cover estimated charges.
• Maintain accurate guest folios, perform adjustments, and oversee the house bank and cash vault procedures.
• Review reservations, manage room blockings and ensure correct allocation for special requests.
• Conduct registration processes, update guest profiles and manage loyalty program data.
• Perform end‑of‑shift cash reconciliation and ensure all reports are balanced and filed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in front‑desk or duty‑manager roles within a luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle moderately complex arithmetic functions.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Russian.
• Leadership qualities with a focus on coaching and team development.
• Commitment to delivering a friendly, engaging service culture.
