Restaurant Hostess – Guest Service Role

About the role

The Hostess creates a warm, welcoming first impression for all guests, manages reservations, greets arrivals, and coordinates seating to ensure smooth restaurant operations and a pleasant dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of dining‑room layout, table numbers, capacity and service standards.
• Handle restaurant reservations, cancellations and special requests, updating the reservation book promptly.
• Answer telephone calls within three rings using proper etiquette and record all inquiries.
• Greet guests at the entrance, assign tables fairly, and present menus.
• Monitor waiting lines during peak periods and organise procedures to minimise delays.
• Assist the supervisor with cashiering procedures and ensure accurate balancing.
• Support menu printing and keep menus, check folders and the hostess stand clean and organised.
• Report for duty punctually in the correct uniform and maintain high personal appearance standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a 4‑ to 5‑star hotel environment.
• Fluent English speaker; Arabic or French a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and professional grooming.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
• Desirable female candidate, with previous guest‑service or hostess experience.
