Road/Highway Engineer

About the role

Lead and support the design of roads, highways, access and service roads, junctions and interchanges, delivering compliant and constructible solutions for Dubai projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review road alignments, profiles, cross‑sections, junction layouts and detailed design drawings.
• Ensure designs meet RTA requirements, project specifications and UAE standards.
• Coordinate with RTA and other authorities throughout design and approval processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, geotechnical, infrastructure).
• Identify and resolve design interfaces, technical issues and conflicts.
• Review contractor and sub‑consultant submissions, shop drawings, method statements and design proposals.
• Support preparation of tender and construction documentation and participate in technical meetings.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and monitor deliverables for quality and schedule compliance.

Required profile

• 7–15 years of professional experience in road and highway design, with at least 3 years in Dubai.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• RTA approval as a Roads/Highway Engineer (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of Dubai RTA standards, specifications, guidelines and approval procedures.
• Proven experience designing urban roads, highways, interchanges, junctions, access and service roads.
• Experience coordinating with RTA and other UAE authorities.
