Rolling Stock Engineer

About the role

The Rolling Stock Engineer plays a key role in ensuring optimal performance of operational assets on the Dubai Metro, providing engineering support and driving asset performance improvements across rolling stock and depot.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic investment planning by contributing engineering input, data‑driven insights and technical justifications to business cases.
• Lead technical investigations related to rolling stock, power supply, ATC and other system interfaces.
• Drive obsolescence management strategies for rolling stock systems and components to ensure long‑term sustainability.
• Analyse asset performance data, develop dashboards and insights aligned with FRACAS, Failure Review Boards and change‑management processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering procedures and asset‑related data models.

Required profile

• Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline.
• Experience in a system‑engineering role for rolling‑stock depot and related interfaces.
• Proven stakeholder‑management experience and ability to develop and interpret large data sets.
• Strong presentation skills for senior stakeholders and ability to work independently.
• Understanding of safety management systems and QHSE compliance.

Required skills

• Rolling stock interfaces (power, ATC, systems, tracks).
• Data analysis and asset‑performance dashboard creation.
• RAMS processes, FRACAS and Failure Review Boards.
• Engineering change management.
• ISO 55000 series asset‑management standards.
• AutoCAD (advantageous).
