Rooms Controller – Hotel Front Office

About the role

The Rooms Controller ensures smooth coordination between the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Reservations to deliver an exceptional guest experience. You will manage room inventory, monitor status updates, and support upselling opportunities in a fast‑paced 5‑star environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assign rooms and work closely with Housekeeping to keep room status accurate and timely.
• Monitor arrival and departure rooms, including Out‑of‑Service (OOS) and Out‑of‑Order (OOO) statuses.
• Manage the VICAS system, generate trace reports, and process online payments.
• Review routing instructions, group blocks, cashiering comments, and room allocations.
• Prepare room allocations for upselling, early arrivals, pre‑registered bookings, connecting rooms, and special guest requests.
• Balance room inventory and coordinate with Reservations on availability.
• Handle same‑day due‑outs, resolve room discrepancies, and arrange extensions when needed.
• Maintain clear communication between Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, and other departments.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a 5‑star luxury hotel front office.
• Strong knowledge of OPERA PMS.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• People‑oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
